CEM, SAMEMichael Reed serves as the Program Director for Sain Engineering Associates, Inc. (SEA). In this role, he is responsible for the management of every day operations for SEA’s federal resource efficiency management program, applying his hands-on technical experience and leadership skills to translate operational challenges into terms everyone understands for program fulfillment. Michael is also instrumental in resolving challenges and building genuine relationships as an impactful mediator who encourages collaboration and teamwork for the engineers and programs he manages.
Michael began his career in the private sector as a systems engineer where he focused on controls and equipment automation. In this role, he designed and programmed numerous control systems for industries and clients around the world. As a Solutions Engineer, he also gained control systems experience for building metering solutions that spanned healthcare, data centers and eventually acted as the gateway for managing federal programs. It was in this role that Michael realized his greatest passion was combining his technical skills with relationship management attributes to achieve successful program results.
Michael received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. He has remained active in the Society of American Military Engineers and has been a presenter for metering and microgrid applications at Federal Energy conferences for more than 10 years.
He and his wife Summer, along with four beautiful children, reside in Columbiana, Alabama.
