Why did you choose engineering?
I chose engineering because the course material interested me and a career in engineering will give me the opportunity to help others by finding solutions to unique problems. To be more specific, I would like to help in the development and/or implementation of renewable energy systems.
How do you see energy playing an important role in the business world in the near future?
Energy already plays a large role in business since it is a necessity for everyone and adds expenses to any corporate budget. Due to the desire of every business’s desire to reduce costs in order to increase profit, businesses will continue to try to use energy more efficiently. From a more long-term perspective, I can see renewable energy sources becoming more enticing as global reserves of fossil fuels diminish. This may not be in our lifetime, but there will eventually be a large push to find cheaper, more efficient renewable energy sources.
